Liz Hardy's studio is at Allanbank in Berwickshire where she regularly facilitates art workshops for adults and children. Her large contemporary abstract landscape paintings capture the expanse and power of the sea, sky, and land. The painting shown here is from her Solo Exhibition in August '24.

Elaine Henderson moved to live in the Borders from Stromness in Orkney which is where she originally set up Scapa Studios, workshop and gallery. Her work was influenced at the time by the geology, weather, archeology and landscapes of the islands. She is now developing a new range of colours, textures and forms inspired by the Borders.

Julia creates unique and fabulous sandblasted designs on handblown 24% lead crystal bowls. Her studio is at the nearby Hirsel Centre For Arts and Crafts and is well worth a visit but an appointment is recommended if you are travelling especially to see her.

Niall describes his work as being process led, attempting to make works that explore "the unconscious mind". The image's starting point is a response to events that occur on a daily basis that affect subliminally who he is. The creative process involves making a random colour and gesture onto the surface and a conversation begins.
