Fee creates expressive, atmospheric large-scale seascapes filled with a sense of calm and peace. Her paintings are about the solace of the sea and the light filled skies above the local beaches. They make you feel like you are walking on the beach with her!
A lifelong painter, Bella's passion for colour included 20 years as a tutor of colour and drawing at the Royal College of Art in London. She now devotes her time to painting her delightfully expressive studies. Many of them have a story to tell, which you can read here.
Stuart is well known in the area both for his art and from his previous vocation as a dentist. A regular exhibitor at the Borders Art Fair and beyond, the paintings in this exhibition depict local landscapes and harbour scenes.
Linda's inspiration comes from the landscape around her; wide sweeps of space, moorland and sea as well as the detail of drystone walls, the swelling sea, rock formations and lichens.
Kim works from direct observation, either in her studio or, by preference, outdoors working en plein air. We saw these marvellous tonal paintings of Kelso Abbey at the Borders Art Fair and asked if we could show them in this exhibition.
Richard is a plein-air painter from Westruther. His pastel painting 'St Cuthbert's Way to Wooler' won the 2024 Louisa Waterford Prize and is on show at the gallery for the summer.
A trained illustrator, Catherine feels she has been under the spell of painting and drawing for most of her life. Her gallery, Catherine & Company, is in Roxburgh Street, Kelso.
Michael creates tactile and evocative sculptures in wood which take their form and flow from the material itself.
Julia creates unique and fabulous sandblasted designs on handblown 24% lead crystal bowls. Her studio is at the nearby Hirsel Centre For Arts and Crafts and is well worth a visit.
Rob creates gorgeously tactile pieces of furniture from Elm trees. He allows the grain and the ‘character’ of the wood to dictate its transformation into furniture that is rare and beautiful as well as being functional.
Master craftsman Tom Cooper makes beautiful hand-crafted furniture and exquisite lathe-turned wooden bowls. His studio near Dalkeith is open to visitors by appointment.
Luke Batchelor's sculptures are pure joy and delight carved in stone. His studio is at the nearby Hirsel Centre For Arts and Crafts. He works mainly to commission so if you want a bespoke House Sign or Pet Memorial he'd be delighted to discuss your ideas.
